In the BGA rework process, high-temperature aluminum foil plays the following key roles:

    •    Heat insulation protection: Aluminum foil has good heat insulation properties, which can block the high temperature generated by heating devices (such as heat guns, infrared furnaces) during rework, preventing surrounding components (such as capacitors, resistors, plastic parts, etc.) from being damaged due to excessive heat.

    •    Reflecting heat to concentrate it: Its light-reflective property can reflect heat back to the BGA pad area, improving heat utilization efficiency, ensuring that the solder joints reach the required melting temperature, and reducing heat loss to irrelevant areas.

In short, aluminum foil protects surrounding components and ensures welding quality in BGA rework through heat insulation, heat uniformization and heat concentration.
